Godzilla Raids Again

I made this poster for an expo in celebration of GODZILLA's 60th birthday. It is based on the movie "Godzilla Raids Again" from 1955  (ゴジラの逆襲, Gojira no Gyakushū), that introduced for a first time the "monster vs. monster" concept that the franchise would adopt for the rest of the films.

The other kaiju is called Anguirus (アンギラス Angirasu), a quadrupedal giant kaiju that resembles an Ankylosaurus. . Anguirus has not one but five brains, one in its head which controls all of its organs, and one above each one of its limbs; each brain most likely controls the limb they are above. This gives Anguirus an advantage in battle, for it can react much quicker than most Kaiju monsters.He was the first enemy that Godzilla ever faced, although he has allied with Godzilla in several other films against more dangerous threats.

It was fun to make it. Since the movie was filmed in black and white, I took some liberties using colors that would be used untill many years later.
