"Voices of Alexander", 2016. Indian in on paper, photography and digital composition, 32 x 23.5 cm.
Cover art for K. James Carters' novel "Voices of Alexander", an urban drama about choices we make in life, and the chance of renewal. It is a good novel, and was fun to make the cover for it.
The author wanted something similar to the work of Banksy, the mysterious graffiti artist who came to international notoriety for his satirical and subversive works. I like Banksy's artwork, and I was anxious to make a hadmade illustration, since my prior work on "Slenderman Slenderman Take this Child" was almost entirely digital. Also, It was a nice change, this is my first illustration for a non fantasy novel. I love fantasy and science fiction, but it was refreshing to make something different. Curiously, the novel allowed me to draw one of my favorite motifs: roses.

Portada para la novela de James K. Carters '"Voces de Alexander", un drama urbano sobre las decisiones que tomamos en la vida y la posibilidad de renovación. Es una buena novela, y fue muy divertido para hacer la portada para el libro.
El autor quería algo similar a la obra de Banksy, el misterioso grafitero que ganó notoriedad internacional por sus obras satíricas y subversivas. Me gusta la obra de Banksy, y yo estaba ansioso de hacer una ilustración hecha con técnicas tradicionales, ya que mi trabajo anterior en "Slenderman,Slenderman, Take this Child" había sido casi enteramente digital. Además, era fue buen cambio, esta es mi primera ilustración para una novela de temática no fantástica. Soy un gran fan de la fantasía y la ciencia ficción, pero fue muy refrescante probar algo diferente. Curiosamente, la novela se prestó para que pudiera dibujar uno de mis motivos favoritos: las rosas
